Respectful Dialogue
As individuals, we are all guaranteed freedom of expression and freedom of belief. In a college or university setting these freedoms are essential to the pursuit of our academic mission. We are also members of a community identified as a liberal arts college in the Christian tradition. In our mission statement “we strive to engage each other in vigorous, free, open inquiry within the context of a caring community committed to the pursuit of academic excellence.” As a caring community we are asked to “promote attitudes and values reflective of the Christian tradition: acceptance, mutual respect, justice, compassion and service to others.”
